We have an exciting opportunity for a full time, permanent District Nurse to join our Manukau Community Health Team

The Manukau Community Health Care team services the Manukau Locality as a part of Counties Manukau District Health Board and will be based in Papakura. This interdisciplinary team provides assessment and treatment for clients in their own homes.

The vital role of a District Nurse is to provide community based services that support patients to remain in their own homes. District tasks may include wound care, continence management, IV management, rheumatic fever prophylaxis and palliative care. Another part of the role will include supporting our new re-ablement programme.

You will be required to work primarily out of the Manukau Community Health Care base and occasionally, required to work across the other Home Health Care bases.

The ideal candidate for this role will be an adaptable registered nurse with proven wound management skills, and able to work independently using evidence based practice.

You will be given a comprehensive orientation, and opportunities for on-going in-service education.

The Manukau Community Health Team provides services 7 days a week.

Essential Requirements:  

·         New Zealand Registered Nurse with Current Annual Practicing Certificate

·         3-5 years post registration experience

·         Full & Clean NZ Driver's Licence

·         Community experience (preferred)
