The Operations Manager Acute Allied Health position at Te Whatu Ora - Counties Manukau District is available for a one-year fixed term period from March 2023. This leadership role is responsible for the management of acute inpatient and outpatient allied health services across Middlemore Hospital, the Manukau Surgery Centre and some community services within the Counties Manukau region. The role has a broad scope, overseeing thirteen departmental head positions covering the five allied health professions- physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social work, dietetics and speech language therapy. The position holder reports to the Service Manager, Acute Allied Health, Stroke and General Rehabilitation and works in partnership with other Operations Managers, Professional Leaders and Clinical Directors of Allied health to achieve service outcomes.
We are looking for a candidate with at least 3 years’ experience in a management role within the health sector, ideally with an allied health background and will need registration and current annual practicing certificate. The ideal candidate will have experience in implementing strategic goals whilst displaying effective staff leadership and budget management. In addition, we are looking for someone with excellent communication skills and a genuine interest in improving health outcomes and service delivery.
