About us:

Middlemore is the largest hospital operated by Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora servicing the area that stretches from Otahuhu to Port Waikato. With 14 operating theatres, 2 procedure rooms and remote anaesthetic sites, Middlemore provides services for a wide range of specialties including Obstetrics, Orthopaedics, General, Plastics, ORL. Middlemore is also a specialist hospital for Burns and Spinal surgery.  Remote areas and 777 emergency calls add a bit more adventures to your days.

Manukau Surgery Centre has 10 operating theatres (about to become 14), 2 procedure rooms and 78 inpatient beds. The Centre provides day surgery services and elective and acute arranged surgery for patients who are not expected to need access to intensive care or interventional radiology. You will have the opportunity to be part of the 777 emergency call team.

We are looking for new Graduates coming from the Perioperative Practice Degree, to join our hardworking, values focused team. Working across theatres at Middlemore Hospital and Manukau Surgery Centre and remote areas, this is your opportunity to work with the best.

You will enjoy working with a very supportive team and should have experience in both acute and elective areas.

This is an opportunity for someone who would like to experience the flavour of working in the public health sector where no two days are ever the same. You will be challenged professionally with an interesting elective and acute workload that brings with its diverse clinical challenges. 

 
We have full time and fixed term roles of varying lengths (covering parental leave) available for someone who is looking for flexibility.

Essential:

·         Currently completing the Perioperative Practice Bachelor Degree at AUT

·         Eligible to register with the Medical Sciences Council as an Anaesthetic Technician

·         Eligible to obtain current Annual Practising Certificate

·         Recent placement experience in elective and acute services

·         Be able to start on February 3rd 2025

The remuneration is as per the PSA Allied Health SECA guidelines (New Graduates step 1 $77,087 with progression annually to step 7 $107,600 with addition progression and recognition steps 7-10 up to $116390 ).
