The Role:

The Emergency Department at Middlemore Hospital provides acute emergency services to around 130,000 adult and paediatric presentations per year and is one of the busiest in Australasia. Middlemore Hospital is situated in a lower socio-economic area and serves a culturally diverse, high need population with high acuity presentations.

We are looking for an Associate Clinical Nurse Manager (ACNM) to join the Emergency Department nursing leadership team!

Some of the essential work you will be doing:

  • Provide exceptional professional and clinical nursing leadership
  • Promote excellence in best practice, and safe, high-quality patient and whaanau centred care, resulting in a great patient experience
  • Continue to coach, mentor, and develop the ED Nursing team, supporting, and enabling nurses to work to their top of scope
  • Support and enable the ED department to meet key performance indicators

About You:

  • NZ Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • 5+ years recent clinical experience in NZ, preferably as an ED nurse
  • Demonstrated expertise in setting standards and managing excellence in practice
  • Relevant Postgraduate qualification completed or enrolled and working towards one

Preference will be given to those candidates that have demonstrated an interest in advanced practice and leadership roles in an acute setting.
