Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau District is one of the most diverse health care providers in Australasia. Our Women’s Health Service offers primary, secondary and tertiary services, within a variety of hospital and community based facilities.

This is a unique opportunity to join the Women’s Health Service where you’ll be instrumental in overall service delivery management by managing complex problems of a wide and varied nature within the service on a daily basis. Exceptional problem solving skills, along with time management skills, are essential as you will be regularly challenged by the requirement to continually re-prioritise your workload to ensure that the clinical areas are supported to provide quality midwifery /nursing care.

You will use a systems approach to ensure beds and staffing resource availability is maximised across our departments/locations across the service. You’ll get an opportunity to enhance your leadership skills by coaching and supporting midwifery and nursing staff out of hours on the Middlemore Hospital site, and by providing clinical advice to the teams in the primary birthing units where required.

Essential:

  • New Zealand Registered Midwife
  • Current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Minimum of 5 years recent clinical experience in Secondary Maternity Care
  • Leadership domain of QLP
