Senior Medical Officer, Plastic Reconstructive & Hand Surgery

 

Health NZ – Te Whatu Ora, Counties Manukau District Health Board in Auckland, New Zealand is seeking expressions of interest for Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons with a sub-speciality interest and training in Cleft and Craniofacial surgery . We have permanent positions available commencing in 2025 & 2026 as part of the Auckland Regional Plastic and Hand reconstruction centre. A strong commitment to working a multidisciplinary team is essential for this role. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic and culturally diverse environment.

The Plastic Reconstructive and Hand Surgery service at CMH provides regional plastic surgery and tertiary Hand cover for the North part of the North Island with a population over 1.8 Million.

Working within Australasia’s largest Plastic Surgery Department you will encounter some of the most interesting and challenging work in your career so far. Your primary base will be at Counties Manukau District Health Board, but duties may include working at other hospitals in the region. There will be an on call commitment which will cover all areas of Plastic Surgery including hand injuries.

Candidates must have a higher qualification in Plastic Surgery equivalent to the Fellowship of the Royal Australasia College of Surgeons (FRACS Plastic Surgery) and be eligible for vocational registration by the Medical Council of New Zealand as a Specialist Plastic Surgeon. Salary and conditions of service will be in accordance with the New Zealand Association of Salaried Medical Specialists Award Agreement. Preference will be given to New Zealand qualified trainees.
