The Opportunity:

Gain valuable real-life experience & insights through the role of Occupational Therapist. We have an opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join the Kidz First Centre for Youth Health, based at 95 Wiri Station Road. Kidz First Centre for Youth Health is a team of health professionals who provide advice and support for young people, along with their whaanau. 

Our team includes nurses, doctors, social workers, psychologist, and occupational therapists, we work using an interdisciplinary model. We provide support to young people aged 12 – 24 years, who experience complicated health and youth development concerns that have a significant impact on their lives. We also provide care to young people who have chronic health conditions, developmental concerns, psychosomatic health issues, high-risk health behaviours and gender diverse and transgender health care. We are looking for an occupational therapist who has sound clinical and interpersonal skills, is patient and whanau centred and can work independently and within a team environment. The ideal candidate would have experience working with young people in a health setting and an understanding of working within a positive youth development model.  

Essential:

  • Registration with the New Zealand Occupational Therapy Board and current annual practising certificate
  • Full, clean drivers’ licence

Desired:

  • Experience working with young people
  • Mental health experience
