Clinical Nurse Specialist Maaori, Critical Care Complex, Te Kaahui Ora - Maaori Health

 

Permanent Full-time role - 1.0FTE

 

An exciting new position has become available for a highly motivated senior nurse, who will focus in Critical Care contributing towards achieving equitable outcomes for Maaori.  Situated within Te Kaahui Ora – Maaori Health you will play a key role in leading and implementing strategies to ensure care pathways mitigate avoidable, unjust or unnecessary barriers caused by the system of health care for Maaori. 

 

The aims are to ensure the provision of manaakitanga, kotahitanga, whanaungatanga and rangatiratanga throughout the patients journey, understand and fulfil strategies that best support Maaori to stay on their planned pathway journey, advocate and build effective relationships and networks to ensure culturally responsive care and treatment are accessed.  You will have a team of kaimanaaki to support achievement of these aims, in addition to a supportive environment and team.

 

This position will contribute to Counties Manukau Health (CMH) achieving health equity for Maaori by supporting Maaori nurses to develop their capacity and capability to respond to the needs of Maaori whaanau and communities.

Essential:

 

  • Minimum five years of relevant experience post registration
  • Experience working with patients with complex health and social needs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Qualified Registered Nurse
  • Current NZ Practicing Certificate
  • PG Dip completed and, commitment to completion of Masters of Nursing
