Working under the direct supervision of a registered occupational therapist, you will be involved in assisting the occupational therapy team to provide assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation to inpatients at Middlemore Hospital or at the Manukau Surgical Centre. Providing a follow up service to people after discharge from hospital may also be a part of this stimulating role.

Middlemore Hospital - Acute Allied Health team offers a supportive environment and encourages personal and career development. In this role you will receive supervision and training to enable you to develop and maintain a comprehensive set of skills to facilitate occupational engagement for clients with medical, surgical and orthopaedic functional challenges.

Essential:

  • An understanding of rehabilitation, illness, and disability
  • Health Care Assistant Level 4 qualifications or experience similar to this level
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting 
  • Good written and verbal communication, excellent customer service aptitude and skills
  • Computer literate (Intermediate level) Microsoft office, Outlook
  • Great time management skills
  • Full and clean driver’s licence
