Administrator - Director of Area Mental Health Service (DAMHS) office

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced administrator to join our friendly, hard-working team as a Mental Health Administrator. This is a part time working 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday and based within Mental Health & Addictions Counties Manukau at Middlemore Hospital.
In this role you will be responsible for providing administrative and customer service assistance within the Director of Area Mental Health Service (DAMHS) office and to the broader service to ensure processes are supported by flexible, skilled administrators in order to meet service demands.
The key tasks of your role are driven by the service priorities and clinical activities of the service. These priorities and activities will fluctuate over time. This role involves coordination of legal processes attached to the DAMHS office and entails contact with a broad range of people, including users of mental health services and their whanau, clinicians, lawyers and judicial staff. You will be required to gain an understanding of the Mental Health Act and processes and keep up to date with related legislative changes. You will also be responsible for organising schedules, meetings, formatting documents, supporting departmental recruitment, assisting with annual leave and payroll management, purchasing supplies, organising the orientation of new members of staff and taking meeting minutes.
To be suitable for this role you will need to have had previous experience providing administrative and coordination support to a team and establishing and maintaining an effective filing system. Microsoft Office suite mastery and previous experience working with a patient management system such as iPM and HCC would also be ideal. You will need to have strong verbal and written communication skills and a high level of attention to detail.
The salary range is dependent on skills and experience and will be paid in line with the National Administration Collective agreement.
